Bill of materials
Things I might need:
- Solder
- For soldering components to stripboard
- Copper Stripboard
- 5V water pump
- For dispensing water to the plants
- Transistors
- To be used as a switch, allows the UNO output to be used as a signal, instead of directly driving the waterpump
- Maybe rated for 0.2A? Depends on water pump supplied
- Diodes
- For freewheeling diode in water pump circuit, to prevent reverse EMF from damaging the water pump
- Acrylic for engraving
- Push Buttons
- Inputs for activating the system, manual watering etc
- LEDs
- Individual Colored LEDS for what state the system is in, for instance on or off.
- RGB LED
-
Resistors
- DHT 22
- DHT22 accurate to 0.5°C whereas DHT11 is accurate to 2°C, huge difference
- Buzzer or Speaker
Not too sure on speaker programming but am pretty competent with buzzer tunes, use buzzer to play a tune or annoying pitch when water tank is low on water.
- Wires
- Could use some wires for jumper cables or dupont cables if exclusively working on breadboard
- Breadboards
- Maybe additional breadboards if not soldering? Breadboard exclusive project
- 9V adapter
- Dupont Cables
- Female to Male Cables, for interfacing boards with Arduino Ports
- Breadboard headers
- For female to male dupont cables interfacing with Arduino ports
